Westchase Thanksgiving Food Drive

Join us for our 2019 Thanksgiving Food Drive on Sunday, Nov. 24 at Westchase Elementary from 1-3 p.m. You can participate by donating the items from the list appearing to the right. Click on the image to open a printable PDF of the shopping list!

In 2018 WOW was recognized by ABC Action News as one of 12 Tampa Bay Game Changer for hosting the largest community food drive in Tampa Bay, involving residents across eight Northwest Hillsborough County communities. The drive included or produced:

  • 8 Communities
  • 6 Business Matchers
  • 1,428 Participating Homes
  • 5 Tons of Food Collected
  • 826 Turkeys Donated

The Great West Chase

The Great West Chase is a popular event hosting a 5K, 10K and Children’s Fun Run on the last Saturday in October. Thousands of runners and scores of generous volunteers and race sponsors come together to raise funds to help local schools with struggling kids.

  • $31,000 for Davis Elementary (Title I), 2017
  • $26,000 for Davidsen Middle’s ESE and ELE students, 2018

WOW has awarded $305,000 in Great West Chase funds since 2002.

WOW Spring Egg Hunt

The 2019 WOW Spring Egg Hunt raised approximately $3,000 for the Westchase Charitable Foundation while providing a fun afternoon of games and egg hunting for Westchase residents.

WOW is a 501(c)3 charity that publishes the WOW newsmagazine, builds a stronger community by hosting important Westchase events, and supports local scholarships and school grants and makes other charitable contributions

  • $2,500 to Hillsborough Education Foundation’s School Supplies for Disadvantaged Classrooms
  • $1,300 to Davidsen/Westchase Elementary’s Angel Tree Gifts and Holiday Meals for Disadvantaged Families
  • $1,200 to YMCA for Memberships for Disadvantaged Families
  • $500 to Boy Scouts for Support of Disadvantaged Troops
  • $250 to Jacob’s Touch

Since 2004 WOW has given over $1 million in direct donations to local schools and charities.
