The 2024 Great West Chase will kick off on Sat, Oct. 26, with the 10K at 7 a.m., the 5K at 8 a.m. and the Kids’ Fun Run at 9 a.m. Registration is now open at TheGreatWestChase.com.
The race begins on Brompton Drive in West Park Village and heads out along Linebaugh Avenue. Last year, WOW staff worked closely with Hillsborough County officials to revise the race route in the interests of runner safety. Runners will once again stay in southern lanes of Linebaugh and all cars will be diverted into the northern lanes, in order to keep cars and runners separate at all times. Please refer to the map on this page for detailed route instructions. As was the case the past two years, 10K runners will run the 5K course twice.
Important information for Westchase residents
Residents planning to leave their homes between the hours of 7-9 a.m. on race morning should be aware of the following traffic patterns and plan accordingly:
- Those exiting Montague from The Bridges and Tree Tops; Gretna Green from The Fords; and Radcliffe Drive from Radcliffe, will only be allowed to make a right-hand turn onto Linebaugh (heading west).
- For those exiting Gretna Green from The Greens, traffic will be held until there are no runners, and then cars will be diverted to the inside north lane to turn right only (heading east). Traffic from westbound Linebaugh will also be allowed to turn south to Gretna Green.
- Radcliffe Drive south of Linebaugh will be closed during the race. Those wishing to enter/exit the Golf Course or Harbor Links/The Estates, will need to use the Harbor Links entrance off Countryway Boulevard.
- In West Park Village, everyone wishing to enter or exit during the race hours will proceed to Tate Lane and then on to Cavendish to reach Linebaugh.
