Girl Scout Troop 1851 is working on their Philanthropy Badge and they have teamed up with the World of Westchase (WOW) to help support their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive. WOW’s Annual Food Drive has grown to be the largest single-day food drive benefitting Metropolitan Ministries. Girl Scout Troop 1851 in conjunction with the Eagles Golf Club are helping to extend this drive to include the Eagles Community.
From Nov. 1 through Nov. 23, residents can drop their non-perishable food donations in the collection boxes inside the Eagles Clubhouse.
These donations will then be delivered to the sorting stations at Westchase Elementary School on Nov. 24, where volunteers will create Boxes of Hope to feed families in need this Thanksgiving. Below is a suggested shopping list that includes the items that make up a Box of Hope. You can also donate items from your pantry, but please check expiration dates before donating.
Whether you can donate one item or the entire meal, your donations help spread hope to so many this holiday season.

2 cans of yams
1 bag or box of stuffing mix 5 cans of vegetables
2 bags or cans of beans
1 can or box of potatoes
1 can of cranberry sauce
1 can or packet of gravy
1 box of cake or dessert mix 1 bag of rice
1 box of mac n cheese
1 box of cereal
