This year’s sales tax holiday season dates have been announced. Below is a breakdown of what you can save on and when.
Disaster Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday
Dates: June 1-14, 2024 and Aug. 24 to Sept. 6, 2024
Household goods including pet food, household cleaners and batteries will be exempt from sales tax, as well as items like flashlights, trash bags and generators.
Freedom Summer Sales Tax Holiday
Dates: July 1 to 31, 2024
Save on music, sporting and cultural events, state park passes and fitness facilities, as well as certain boating and water activities, camping, fishing, general outdoor and residential pool supplies, and kids’ athletic equipment and outdoor toys.
Back-to-School Sales Tax Holiday
Dates: July 29 to Aug. 11, 2024
This covers everything from learning aids to clothing to computers. The sales tax holiday only applies to certain school supplies priced at $50 or less per item and select clothing, footwear, and accessories that are $100 or less per item. There is also a new sales tax exemption for learning aids and jigsaw puzzles that are $30 or less. It also applies to the sales of personal computers and other electronic items you might need for eLearning. You will not be taxed on the first $1,500 of the sales price of a personal computer. Tools and Equipment Sales Tax Holiday
Dates: Sept. 1 to Sept. 7, 2024
