We added some fun new categories to our 26th Annual Decorating Contest, and our readers responded! We had 34 homes participate across four categories and five neighborhoods vying for the Community Spirit Awards. Our team of judges had a fantastic time driving through our neighborhoods and it was a close race in all categories. Winners are listed below, as well as a list of very worthy honorable mentions. Please note that the contestants selected the category in which they would be judged. Congratulations to all!
This list is a great way for everyone to get out and get in the holiday spirit right here in our community. Thank you to all who participated and shared your decorations with us. Happy Holidays!
The Griswold Winner: Gordon Price, Chelmsford
This award recognized the best overall use of lights à la Clark Griswold, and Gordon went all out as usual to create a stunning display of lights.
The Martha Stewart Winner: The Digirolamo Family, Harbor Links/The Estates.
This award went to the home that conveyed a touch of elegance that would make Martha Stewart proud. We’re pretty sure Martha would approve of the Digirolamos’ elegant display.
Deck the Yard Award Winner: The Tucker Family, Baybridge
This award focuses on the best use of yard decorations to enhance the overall display. The Tucker’s had an eclectic collection of inflatables illuminated by lighted archways and two brilliantly lit oak trees.
Most Creative Winner: Pablo Smith, Mandolin Estates
This award recognized the display incorporating creative touches or a unique theme. Pablo went full Clark Griswold with the lights, but also added creative touches like a life-size Cousin Eddy and Clark hanging precariously from the gutters.
Community Spirit Award Winners
Westchase: Bristol Commons Circle in Woodbay
Each home on this loop lets their unique holiday spirit shine through – whether that is for Christmas or Hanukkah or the holiday season. It is tied together with zig zag lights strung from treetops, making a delightful drive for visitors.
Northwest First Place: Highland Park Coach Homes
This close-knit community worked together to bathe their gorgeous palms in red and green and the effect is stunning. Individual homeowners’ decorations add to the beauty.
